NON-RACQUET SPORTS – COVID-19 Update

In addition to our general guidelines on our main Covid-19 webpage, please follow the guidelines below when visiting the Club to play a non-racquet sport from 12 April 2021:

Please follow these guidelines for Table Tennis

  • Play will be in the Pettigrew Room only 
  • Players must be from the same household or support bubble.
  • Each player must be named on the booking
  • No spectators
  • Max 7 day advance booking
  • No turning up to play without a prior booking.  
  • Opening times 10am – 9PM
  • Maximum one 90 min booking slot per member per day
  • A 5 minute social distancing buffer has been included between each 30 minute slot to allow for cleaning and ventilation.
  • Players to clean table immediately after playing using the cleaning products provided
  • Windows and door should be left open at all times
  • Do not arrive more than 5 minutes before your booking time 
  • Please vacate the room and Clubhouse promptly at the end of your booking 

Please follow these guidelines for Snooker

  • 1 snooker table only to comply with EPSB social distancing guidance
  • Solo practice or play with a household/ support bubble only
  • No spectators
  • Each player must be named on the booking
  • Max 7 day advance booking
  • No turning up to play without a prior booking.  
  • Opening times 10am – 9pm
  • Maximum one 90 min booking slot per member per day.
  • A 5 minute social distancing buffer has been included between each 30 minute slot to allow for cleaning and ventilation.
  • Players to clean rests, triangle, balls & table surround immediately after play using the cleaning products provided
  • Windows should be left open at all times
  • Do not arrive more than 5 minutes before your booking time 
  • Please vacate the room and the Clubhouse promptly at the end of your booking

Please follow these guidelines for Croquet

  • Croquet may be booked online by members, with up to six players per lawn.
  • Croquet hosted sessions restart on Saturdays from 17 April with a format and group sizes to ensure compliance with Government and Croquet Association guidance
  • Please book online in advance and enter the names of everyone who will be playing. If you are unable to book online, please contact Andrew Stewart for help or email info@wwc.org.uk and your message will be forwarded.

Please follow these guidelines for Petanque

  • Petanque must be played on alternate pistes as a game of singles or doubles only.
  • Petanque hosted sessions are running with a format and group sizes to ensure compliance with Government and Petanque England guidance
  • Games should be booked in advance via Bob Ainsworth, who has offered to coordinate attendance so as to maintain social distancing.  If you don’t have his email address, please email info@wwc.org.uk and your message will be forwarded.

Striders Running Club

Members are welcome to run from the Club car park and should meet near the petanque terrains. Access to the changing rooms is limited to the lavatory only.

Bridge is suspended at present due to difficulties with social distancing.

We will keep all arrangements under close scrutiny and would ask you for your support in adhering to these guidelines and ensuring social distancing is maintained.
